Section two:

Sound- The opening song has a very fast beat which creates a very fun and interesting feel. There is also a lot of people talking and school bells ringing in the background to show that it is set in a school environment which a lot of teenagers can relate to.

Use of titles- The title ‘Easy A’ relates to the audience because teenagers can relate to getting an A in school exams. As well as the title name, the colours red and white are used, the colour red really stands out especially on a white background so it would catch the eye of people watching it.

Camerawork- A lot of long shots are used to show where the film is set and what is going on in the beginning to set the scene for the audience. Also there are a few close up shots of the American flag to show where the film is set.

Mise-en-scene- The majority of the students in the school are dressed casually in t-shirts, jeans, and trainers, very casual clothing that would be suitable for school. Whereas the group who are known to be ‘popular’ are a set of females who are dressed in heels, shorts skirts and dresses.

Representation- Gender representation is occurring in the opening scene. This is shown when the group of ‘popular’ girls are walking towards the camera. This will instantly attract females as they are the main gender in the opening sequence.
