Script - Teen Angst OMG
OMG! : The script.
Characters: Faye,
Christian, Lizzy, Lucy, Lana and Charlie
- Scene 1: Faye’s bedroom
- Faye is asleep; she then gets woken up by her alarm clock. She puts her head in her hands as she begins to remember what happened the weekend just been. She gets out of bed, walks over to her mirror and stares at herself in shame. She then says to herself in the mirror (head in her hands)
- Faye: what have you done Faye?
- Rewinds from that morning back to the party
- Scene 2: house party
- Group of girls walk up to the house and knock on the door. Lucy (who’s party it is) opens the door and says,
- Lucy: heeeyyy, come in girlies!
- The camera then follows the girls into the kitchen where the party is in full flow. The people at the party are using a selfie stick which is used to show who their characters are, this will be done using a montage. The camera then tracks the triple L’s through the hallway and walking up the stairs. They cross paths with Charlie(the school heart throb who is also Lucy’s ex-boyfriend)
- Lucy (flirtatiously): hey Charlie, do you miss me?
- Charlie (looking flustered) rushes past obliviously.
- Lucy (looking annoyed) turns to Lizzy and Lana and says
- Lucy: where did he come from?
- In unison they all look up to Lucy’s bedroom door which is slightly open and then all rush to see who’s in there. Lucy takes a deep breath and pushes her door open. To Lucy’s horror she finds her ‘friend’ Faye wrapped up in the duvet.
- Triple L’s: O M G! (introduces title)
- Scene 3: fast-forward to Faye outside the school
- Takes a deep breath and walks into school to find Christian, she gets nasty stares and people are whispering about her.
- Christian: babes, I wouldn’t wanna be you right now….. oh wait I would, Charlie is FIT!
- Faye: oh Christian this isn’t a time for jokes
- Christian: don’t worry hun I’ve got your back, those triple L’s don’t intimidate me
- Christian links arms with faye and then carry on walking to their lesson.
- They cross paths with Charlie
- Charlie: (awkwardly) Faye, can we have a chat?
- Faye: (hesitantly) not here Charlie look who’s coming
- The triple L’s strut towards them, Faye looks timid but Christian is ready to fight fayes corner.
- Lucy: well well well… look what the cat dragged in
- Christian: not today girls she don’t wanna hear it
- Charlie: alright guys let’s not do this here… Lucy do you not think she’s heard enough already?
- Lucy: obviously you’re taking her side!
- Charlie: it’s not like that
- Lucy: what is it like then?
- Charlie: look Luc, we were both drunk and it just happened
- Lucy: alcohol is NEVER an excuse, Faye I thought you were my friend? And you Charlie, I thought you had more respect for me than that….. I guess not.
- Charlie: common Luc, our relationship was a joke anyway, I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did (laugh to himself)
- Lucy: (gasps) well if you think that …. Slaps him round the face
- Ends with the triple L’s walking off and Christian, Faye and Charlie are left looking shocked.

Premliminary Task
Preliminary Task
I have learnt by doing the preliminary task how to use 180 degrees shot, shot reverse shot and match on action. From 180 degrees we learnt that it means you have to keep the camera one side of the people who are in the film are talking. Shot reverse shot is when you film someone's face talking but from over the shoulder of the person they are talking to so you can also see them in the shot. Then match on action is where you cut between two action points. We included all of these shots in our short film.

Film Title Analysis
Film Title Analysis
- The title for 'mean girls' is written in a sans serif font which means that it is very clear and simple, it is also in pink and purple which are the stereotypical colours for girls.
- The 3 girls in the background are very stereotypically the 'popular girls' whereas the girl at the front is the 'unpopular' girl.
- The way the 'popular' girls are dressed is stereotypical, as in the short skirts and pink outfits and heels.
- The girl that is at the front (unpopular) is wearing a pink top which connotes that she is trying to fit in with the popular girls.
- The font of the title is in sans serif, which is very clear, and it is also purple and sparkly, which is stereotypically girly.
- The background is pink which is also stereotypically girly and connotes that its a teenage girls film.
- This is very similar to the mean girls title as it has the 'popular girls' at the back and the girl at the front who is trying to fit in.
- The girl at the front is a countertype as the way she dresses isn't stereotypically the way the 'unpopular' girl would dress as she is dressed very fashionable.
- The title photo suggests that it is a film for teenage girls in particular as everything is very girly.
- The font for this film is in sans serif so it is again very simple and clear which suggests that the film is very easy going and light hearted.
- The girl at the front looks like the main character as she is at the front and right in the middle.
- There are photos of people around her and they are all stereotypical to a teenage girl as there is one of a boy which is stereotypical as teenage girls are interested in boys.
- There is also a photo of her best friends behind her which shows who the main characters will be in the film.
- All the colours of the background are very pink and bright which also connote that the film will be very girly and easy to watch.
- The title is in a very fun sans serif font which connotes that is a very fun and light hearted film and will be very easy to watch.
- The colours of the title are black and white which is very simple and classic and this connotes that the film is a high quality teenage angst film.
- The writing is white and it is on a black background which makes it stand out.
- The black border also gives the title a high quality look.
- The 3 girls are dressed very stereotypically girly, this connotes the girls are very fashionable are probably the 'popular' girls.

Analysing Company Logos
Production Company Logos
· I think the stars surrounding the mountain and the word ‘paramount’ symbolise the fame and the celebrities that are used in their films.
· Also I think that the stars can represent that paramount is an American company.
· The word paramount is right on the top of a big mountain which connotes that it is at the height of its success and it is the best it can be.
· The clouds surrounding the mountain show that paramount is above the clouds so it is sunny, which shows it is always bright.
· The type of font used for ‘Paramount’ connotes that it is a high quality company.
· I think the man on the moon that is fishing for dreams shows that it’s a fantasy and its all in your imagination.
· The ‘DreamWorks’ stands out because it is white and bold on a dark background.
· I think that it is set up in the clouds because its suggesting that the films are ‘out of this world’ and they are very good quality.
· The idea of it being called ‘DreamWorks’ shows that its almost like a factory and that dreams are being created.
· Also by sitting on the moon and calling it DreamWorks it shows that dreams are made at night when you’re sleeping.
· The idea of it being called ‘Universal’ an having a big colourful earth that is lit up in the middle connotes that this film company brings everyone from around the world together.
· All of the stars around the world represent all of the famous people that they use in their film.
· ‘Universal’ suggests that everyone around the world knows what it is and that they are well known.
· The earth connotes that the films that they produce are out of this world and as well as the gold writing shows that the company has importance and is of very good quality.
· The spotlights connote all of the famous people they use in their films and they shine up into the sky to show how they are on top and they are the best at what they do.
· Clouds usually connote bad weather and sadness but in this they are being lit up by the spotlights which brightens the whole sky up.
· The big bold gold writing on at the top of lots of stairs is almost like it is higher up than everything else as its in the clouds connotes that the ‘20th Century Fox Television’ is better than everything else and it is the best at what it does.
· The fact that the logo is black and white connotes that it is very classic and original.
· Also the font is in sans serif so it is very clear for the audience to read.
· The pattern of the logo is the same pattern that is on the top of a clapper board which shows the audience that they are very committed to their work.
· The logo for film 4 is very clever as the lines around the word ‘film’ create the number 4.
· The fact that its just plain red is very clever as it stands out and is very easy to remember.
· Film is underlined which makes the word stand out as it is white against a plain red background.
· The font used is very clear as its white and in all capital letters.

Use of titles- The title ‘Easy A’ relates to
the audience because teenagers can relate to getting an A in school exams. As
well as the title name, the colours red and white are used, the colour red
really stands out especially on a white background so it would catch the eye of
people watching it.
Camerawork- A lot of long shots are used to
show where the film is set and what is going on in the beginning to set the
scene for the audience. Also there are a few close up shots of the American
flag to show where the film is set.
Mise-en-scene- The majority of the students in
the school are dressed casually in t-shirts, jeans, and trainers, very casual
clothing that would be suitable for school. Whereas the group who are known to
be ‘popular’ are a set of females who are dressed in heels, shorts skirts and
dresses.
Representation- Gender representation is
occurring in the opening scene. This is shown when the group of ‘popular’ girls
are walking towards the camera. This will instantly attract females as they are
the main gender in the opening sequence.
